SDS will be fully operational out of this facility and providing the same level of service and quality our business has been built upon by early 2010. link

Shoemaker Drywall Supplies Regina hosted our Grand Opening Celebration yesterday. Catered by Vicky's Cafe and Catering, hosted by Saskatchewan Roughriders Cheerleaders and attended by several suppliers with displays, the event was a huge success. "You guys really did this up well!" was heard many times throughout the afternoon and evening. Congratulations to all that won one of the many door prizes. The Grand prizes of 30 squares of CRC shingles, and 6,000 square feet of board went to D. Bartley and J. Simmons respectively. Across the entire organization contractors took advantage of 10% off all tools savings while attending celebratory bbq's. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make these events a success and thank you to all of our contractors and friends who took the time out of their busy days to join us in our celebration!

"It was so much fun!" exclaimed SDS Vice President of Operations, Scott Webster who, along with his family and the staff and families of Shoemaker Drywall Supplies in Regina, participated in the Buffalo Days parade on Saturday. The SDS float Building For The Future, won 3rd place in the Business Float Parade Division. 1,200 children along the route were excited by the SDS green and white Buffalo Days sponge footballs handed out along the way. All in all a great day was had by everyone. Thanks to everyone who put in so many hours making the float and the parade a tremendous success.

Shoemaker Drywall Supplies in conjunction with our industry partners have raised in excess of $20,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Thank you so much to everyone who made this possible. We look forward to next year's Shoemaker Drywall Supplies charity golf tournament.

It is with great pride and excitement that the whole team at SDS would like to recognize Ryan Shoemaker, president of SDS, on his receipt of “The Leaders of Tomorrow” award from Business in Calgary.  This award is presented to dynamic young leaders who have shown accomplishment, vision, and community commitment.

Ryan Shoemaker, with his business partner Trevor Shoemaker, took over the family business in 2004.  Since that time, the company has added 7 branches in new markets, grown revenue exponentially, and invested in both new and long-term people.  Ryan, recognizing the challenges of growth, has developed a team of skilled professionals that are dedicated to making a difference in all aspects of the business.  Ryan knows that every employee counts and believes that great staff is what truly sets SDS apart.

Nov 25, 2008;   It is with great pleasure that Shoemaker Drywall Supplies would like to announce that effective January 1, 2009 our organization will enter into a partnership with fellow drywall suppliers Watson Building Supplies of Ontario and the Beauchesne Group of Companies based in Quebec. This newly formed company will be known as WSB Titan (Titan). Collectively Titan will operate out of 20 branches throughout Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan. Watson’s existing branches include Vaughan, Barrie, Belleville, Orillia, and Burlington. Beauchesne is located in Quebec City, Ottawa, Kingston, and 3 Montreal locations.

As we continue to watch the Canadian economic environment change, it has been our focus to position ourselves to best handle these changes. By partnering with other proven leaders and winners in our industry we believe we have achieved that. This partnership will create the single largest privately held Gypsum Supply Dealer in Canada, giving us access to a broader range of products and services. In addition, the combined knowledge and experience will help us to stay competitive, informed, and better able to service you.  With our new national presence we will also be able to help you effectively service your clients, wherever they may do business.

All three partners of Titan have spent many years building their own individual brands and will therefore continue to operate under those identities. Sept 1, 2008;   SDS introduces a unique customer support program for drywall finishers. Starting this month finishing professionals will be able to visit their local SDS yard and demo a Drywall Master Automatic Taper.  The demo program allows tapers an opportunity to try the tool prior to purchasing.

Sept 1, 2008;   SDS introduces Drywall Master Taping Tools with a 10% off taping tool sets promotion through to the end of September. Shoemaker will stock a full line of Drywall Master Taping Tools and replacement and maintenance parts.
